How was the Book Fair weekend?

The Florida Antiquarian Book Fair brings book dealers and book lovers together for three days of absolute bliss at The Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Some of them spoke about their experiences after the 30th Annual Florida Antiquarian Book Fair in March 2011. Here is some of what they said.

In tune at the Book Fair

Expect the unexpected at the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair. On Saturday, two booksellers got together and entertained fairgoers with a mini-jam session of old-fashioned country music, the kind that conjures images of calico dresses, barn dances and hay rides. Quite naturally, the music led to some impromptu dancing as well. That prompted some wags to suggest that maybe it should be called the Florida Antiquarian Bluegrass Book Fair. The Book Fair runs through Sunday.

Forget Kindle and iPad. We love books!

Here is a tribute to the long and glorious history of the printed word. Long may it live. Kindles and iPads may be all the rage but there't nothing like reading a good book with good old fashioned paper pages. And when they're not making traditional books anymore, the ones we love will be all the more valuable, won't they?

If you love a good book, come to the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair. March 11-13, 2011 at The Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Theme music by Kevin MacLeod.
