Rare Book Cafe guest makes good!

Congratulations to Florida science fiction writer Rick Wilber, who is reporting on Facebook,
I'm pleased to report that the Feb. issue of Locus lists the top ten hardcover bestsellers, and Alien Morning slipped in there at #10. My first appearance on a bestseller list!

Wilber, God bless 'im, agreed to play Laika the Space Dog in the rickety launch of Rare Book Cafe's second series- on a new broadcast platform- in December (happily, he survived).

That his latest title- Alien Morning, from Tor Books- has moved up to a genre best-seller list since then is purely coincidental.

Alien Morning's the first of a trilogy, and Locus has also included it in its Recommended Reading List for 2017.

This week The San Jose Mercury News gives Alien Morning a solid blastoff as
"the beginning of a series, and it promises to be a good one. Rick Wilber has been writing about S’hudonni for many years, but this time, he has put the alien species in direct contact with modern humanity. The result is never quite what the protagonist – a journalist who’s using the cutting-edge of modern information technology – expects, and there are many questions yet to be answered after this first volume...
"Family drama, which will be played out in the future volumes, is significant, but so is the larger relationship between a more advanced technological species and humanity. Put it all together, and “Alien Morning” is one of the better books I’ve read in recent months, and I’m genuinely looking forward to volumes two and three."
