FIRST LOOK 2023: Limited-edition hand-colored etchings by Tampa artist John Costin

Michael Slicker of Lighthouse Books, ABAA in Dade City, Florida, offers a glimpse at Large Florida Birds, a suite of 20 original hand-colored etchings by Tampa artist John Costin. The work is No. 107 of 150 books, and it includes a foreword by Pulitzer-prize winning Florida author Jack E. Davis.

Michael also notes that although this is certainly a rare and high-priced item, that he and many other booksellers at the book fair will be offering fine selections of moderately priced books as well. Many booksellers, he points out, have $5 shelves or tables. So, there’s something for everyone at the Florida Antiqaurian Book Fair.

Florida Antiquarian Book Fair features rare and collectible books, antique maps, vintage prints and photographs, and ephemera from various eras, offered by sellers from all other the country.

Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com or at the box office.

MUSIC: Wang-Wang Blues. 1920 Paul Whiteman and his Ambassador Orchestra. Written by Gussie Mueller, Theron E. “Buster” Johnson, and Henry Busse. Pop and jazz standard.
