🔴 Rare Book Cafe COFFEE BREAK No. 11:
Gigi Best and the earliest African Americans

Genealogist Gigi Best, a longtime contributor to Rare Book Cafe, joins us to tell about her latest endeavors with an organization dedicated to highlighting the contributions of people often missed in historical accounts of the nation. The Society of the First African Families of English America is made up of descendants of the men, women, and children who arrived as early at 1619 in what became the United States of America.

Gigi and her husband Skip Richardson operate the Best Richardson African Diaspora Literature & Culture Museum in St. Augustine, Florida. In past years, they have been longtime exhibitors at the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair.
